Muhurat Trading is an event unique to the Indian stock markets on account of Diwali. Every year, the stock exchanges host a special one-hour trading session to mark the beginning of the Samvat (Hindu accounting year) on the day of Lakshmi Pujan. Traders believe that investing on this occasion will bring blessings from Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth & Prosperity, and set the tone for wealth creation for the year.
